Title: Gone But Not Forgotten: Alternative Cultures in an Unchanging World
Rating: PG
Author's Note: This kind of...grew...from a bit of late night speculation with [info]ladyholder. She gets fair credit as co-author, or at least co-conspirator. Thanks to [info]shrewreader for organizational consult. Set in the Bridges Universe.

Valentines Advert: The Official V-Day Project

Title: Tears Unshed (1/2)
Rating: PG-13
Pairings: Ronon/Teyla. McKay/Sheppard implied.
Warnings: This story has portions that deal with death, and specifically the death of young children. If that disturbs you, please read no further. Nothing explicit, but I know some people have personal experience that makes reading fic of this nature inadvisable.
Author's Note: This was supposed to be [info]wychwood's birthday present. It's a bit late, and I apologize for that. It was also an attempt at digging into Teyla's backstory; judge it as you will.

Valentine's Advert: Women & Work

Summary: ...grief is still grief. Burying it doesn't make it go away. )

Title: Meet the Novaks (1/4)
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Lorne/Novak
Author's Note: So I fell behind. Like, a lot. I apologize, and have already vowed to start my 2008 Valentines in November instead of December. This state has resulted in MtN being posted in two parts, however. Thanks for bearing with me.

Valentine's Advert: Voting.

Summary: Lindsey considered very seriously turning around and running all the way back to Atlantis )

Title: A Mother's Regret

Title: The Newcomer's List
Rating: PG
Author's Note: This is the part where I die. Because this is my last complete finished Valentine. From here on out it's day-by-day completions. Wish me luck!!

Valentine's Advert: Rape & Sexual Assault

Title: Scenes from a Waiting Room
Rating: PG
Pairing: McKay/Sheppard implied.
Author's Note: This was kind of, sort of, the bunny that wouldn't die. It ended up slotting itself in as a sequel to my earlier piece Withdrawal, and takes place within the same time-line (i.e. in a future created before the events of the second half of S3 were known). There is a tiny crossover with House, MD.

Valentines Advert: Reproductive Rights.

Summary: You want next of kin? I'll give you next of kin!

Title: Hermiod's Annual Academic Review
Rating: PG-ish
Pairing: Um...
Author's Notes: For [info]ana_grrls birthday. See, I had this idea. And there are about a million ways to approach it, and all of them kept confusing me, so you get this. Maybe someday I'll do the exploded version.

Valentines Advert: Peace Movement

Summary: Even the Asgard aren't immune to those dreaded words "annual review."

Title: Dear Mom
Beta: [info]wychwood
Rating: PG
Pairing: Weir/?? (unspecified)
Author's Note: This is the teaser/trailer for a much larger project that was just never getting done in time. Expect it in a few months.

Valentine's Advert: Hunger

Summary: Dear Mom. Guess what? You're a grandmother! No. That would never work.

Title: All She Wants/All She Needs
Betae: click here
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Elizabeth Weir/Ladon Radim
Author's Note: This follows Before, Between, and After indirectly, and certainly falls within the same chronology. I recommend reading that first, but it's not necessary. Thanks to everyone who held my hand as I weeped and wailed my way through this fic, and also those who thought I was crazy to write this pairing but read and liked it anyway in the beta-stages. It was never, ever, supposed to grow to more than 6,000 words.

Valentine's Advert: Women's Health.

Summary: It began with a box. Bridges Universe.

Title: Before, Between, and After
Rating: PG
Pairing: Gen
Author's Note: Another of the Bridges pieces. This universe wasn't designed to be Elizabeth-centric, but hers were the stories that demanded to be told first. A look at the parts of Elizabeth that we don't see onscreen. That we can't see.

Valentine's Advert: Economics & Wealth

Summary: But if Pegasus had taught Elizabeth anything, it was that no victory came without a price. She hadn't realized that the cost of protecting Atlantis would be her soul. Set in the Bridges Universe.

Almost, but not quite: weird

Title: Sir! Cadman, Robert. Sir!
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Robbie Cadman / Lisa Kirnov implied.
Author's Note: This gets a massive whopping A/N. [info]wychwood has a birthday today, and that birthday coincides almost exactly with the date she started to beta-read for me (when I was, to put it kindly, a very different author than I am today). Both are important dates in my book. In her honor, I am posting the first of the Ripples pieces in my 14 Valentines line-up (she was the beta who saw me through almost the entirety of that series). However, this is not what was supposed to be going up. I asked her what she'd like me to post on her birthday, and she selected an angsty Teyla piece titled Tears Unshed. Due to a monster of a RL SNAFU, that piece is unfinished. It will be posted before the end of 14-V, but I can't swear to the date, so I'm posting an out-of-order Valentine instead. Um, meep?

Valentine's Advert: Domestic Violence. On this note, I heartily recommend the book The Gift of Fear to all my fellow ladies.

Summary: Six scenes from Robbie Cadman's year at the US Air Force Academy. An Intersection in the Ripples Universe.

Betae: Click here for list.
Author's Note: I was totally going to post my three Bridges stories in a row, but I am weak.

Valentines Advert: Body Image

Summary: The aftermath of the Alliance of Atlantis, from the perspective of five very different women. Bridges universe, sequel to Bridges You Cross.

Title: A Day in the Life of (a Very Troubled) John Sheppard
Rating: PG
Pairings: Many implied, few explicit. Check the Memoirs page for more details.
Author's Note: Beta-Cred can be found here.

Valentine's Advert: Today's community focus is Women in the Arts. Again, I remind you that the daily topics do not necessarily have anything to do with the works posted.

Summary: April, 2012. John's life is so hard. No, really. Memoirs Universe.

I would not have made it through (I'm speaking optimistically here and presuming I make it to Feb 14 alive and reasonably sane) the undertaking that was 14 Valentines 2007 without the help and support of my online friends. While everyone's been great (and by great, I mean astonishing and wonderfully supportive and hasn't killed me for whining at the top of my lungs), I feel obliged to give a few specific thanks. Since I'm a slacker at heart, this counts as your beta-cred too, guys.
  • [info]ladyholder, whom I knew barely at all when I went into this, has been an incredible help. In terms of moral support, constructive criticism, and in her willingness to discuss painful personal experience for the sake of my fiction.

  • [info]scififreak, who is unafraid to speak up when she doesn't agree with something, and also willing to quote Gabrielle at me when I'm flailing and convinced that I can't write worth anything.

  • [info]saklani2, for providing the pillow while I flailed, and simply believing in me.

  • [info]wymsie, for discussing plot which I'm sure she had no interest in (read: exploring Elizabeth Weir's opinions on duty) et nauseum.

  • [info]druidspell, who begged and pleaded her way onto the beta list, and made my fic that much better for it.

  • [info]veracity, who has consistently been willing to listen to my problems, even when her own life was a mess.

  • [info]wychwood, she who cannot be forgotten. A sweetheart who was responsible for much of the fanart associated with this year's crop of Valentines, as well as forcing me to continue work on Tears Unshed. Interestingly enough, it was during last year's Valentines run that I met her, via Letters to a John Doe. I can't imagine this past year without her.

All of those listed above have been involved in various aspects of pretty much everything going up this year. A serious, and heartfelt, thanks.

Um, if I forgot you and you were a major player? Let me know. My brain's kind of fried.
