I'm going to be totally unfair and pimp this before it's really available, but I saw this movie on an Air Canada flight, and I CANNOT endorse it enough.

Were the World Mine

It's a modern re-telling of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, with a heavy dose of crack, some seriously good music (click here for OST), and some totally awesome gender-bending of traditional roles.

Extended Trailer Under Cut )

It releases on DVD on May 26. WATCH IT!! BUY IT!! It's, OMG, so good. So, so good.

Because, really, who doesn't love rugby players in iridescent shorts doing ballet?

This post is for images associated with Spa Atlantis.

First off, I am actively encouraging anyone and everyone to toss a few of these my way; I'm never going to get all of the ones done that I want to, and different people smoke very different crack.

Second, on with the show! )

Rating: Erm, it's an infomercial
Author's Notes: Blame [info]ana_grrl for this. I mean it. And now, she's obliged to actually write a fic set here, so HA!! Also? I should probably be taken out and shot for this. Edits courtesy of suggestions from [info]shrewreader and [info]lilyayl.

Summary: Visit the famous city of Atlantis, once a military base in the war against the Wraith, now a renowned resort and spa! )

No Pairing, Rating of G. [info]scififreak helped me come up with this at 0300 this morning. [info]darsnape_dracul gets credit for the "Not Dead Yet" form.

The H&R Block job was a bad idea. For any number of reasons. Not the least of which is that my stepmother had potential to be my pseudo boss if I got stuck in the floater pool. It was also a $2-$3/hour pay cut from what I make at the hospital. But the kicker?

Is that they won't hire me w/out a Social Security card. Yup, just like the hospital wouldn't put me on payroll w/out it, they're refusing to paperwork me and hire me w/out my SS card. Which I spent half an hour digging for this morning, but couldn't find since my room's a bit of a mess at the moment. So I'm not taking the job, and will break the news to the family later today. Because I'll have dad paid off by the end of the month on my current job.

Honestly? This is better all around. Especially given that I'm up to FT at the hospital these next few weeks. It's just going to be a familial headache trying to explain that this is *my* decision. *Headdesk*

On the bright side? I think I'm going to work on Crackfic 3* this afternoon. And according to Netflix, Boa vs. Python should be arriving today. I have such plans.

My brain? While surprisingly taking a momentary break from its anxiety issues of late, has still refused to *stop*. It just keeps going. It's starting to get annoying. Especially when it starts in on an introspective kick. I get the feeling this evening's shift is going to generate another long post about the bizareness of my childhood, spurred by a discussion I had w/ my step-mum last night.

And I have 3 plots trying to write themselves at once in my brain, none of them what I need to be writing. My mind keeps flitting between Murder Call, SG1, SGA, and the occasional foray ino Due South with frightening alarcity. Can you imagine the children of RK/F & JS/RM meeting in a bar and playing "Who had the weirder life"? "If I told you, I'd have to shoot you" issues aside.

*Headdesk* Added to that, I have a cranky Australian Homicide Detective kicking around my brain stirring things up, which doesn't help, and she keeps running hot and cold which is confusing *her* partner and making me nutty. And I *know* everything swimming around in here is crack!fic, and shouldn't be written, certainly not *posted*. But it won't go away!!

And my mind is still spinning at a million miles an hour. Maybe I'll just head over and see if I can start my shift early, get to work on that introspective post about bizarre childhoods. Because I'm not goign to play Prime, Not Prime with myself. That would be wrong. And an abuse of fandom. NM that it might actually be amusing.

ETA (3:40):Oh god. The comment about the DS/SGA Progeny xover was a *joke*. And now my brain's trying to spin it out logically and turn it into a serious story.
